On-Site Estimate

We visit your property, walk the area, assess existing surface conditions, discuss material and pattern options, and give you a written quote before any work begins.

Excavation and Base Prep

Existing materials removed if demo is required. Native soil excavated 6 to 8 inches for driveways, 4 to 6 inches for patios. Caliche hardpan layers broken up and removed. Compacted aggregate base installed in lifts.

Edge Restraints and Sand Bed

Plastic or aluminum edge restraints set at the perimeter to hold the paver field in place permanently. Bedding sand — typically 1 inch of coarse concrete sand — screeded level over the compacted base.

Paver Installation and Pattern

Pavers set in the chosen pattern, cut at edges and borders, and checked for level continuously. Complex patterns such as herringbone or custom borders take more time than running bond or grid patterns.

Compaction and Polymeric Sand

The completed paver field is compacted with a rubber-padded plate compactor. Polymeric sand swept into joints and activated with water to lock joint material and inhibit weed growth.

Sealing (if included)
