SEVEN WELLS CONSTRUCTION
Concrete Contractor in Las Vegas, NV โ Driveways, Patios, and Foundations Built for the Desert
Pouring concrete in Las Vegas is different from every other market. When ambient temperature exceeds 90 degrees, concrete surface evaporation accelerates significantly. During Las Vegas summers where air temperatures routinely hit 110 to 115 degrees, a pour without proper hydration management, curing compound, and sun shading can lose structural integrity before it fully sets โ producing cracking and surface scaling that shows up within the first two years.
We schedule early morning pours in summer, apply curing compound immediately after finishing, and shade first-day cures on exposed pours. These are not optional enhancements โ they are standard practice for concrete work in Clark County. License LIC #NV20243184149.

๐ Best Time to Pour Concrete in Las Vegas
October through April is optimal. Ambient temps stay below 90 degrees, allowing normal hydration and cure without aggressive mitigation.
Summer pours: We schedule early morning starts at 5 or 6 AM, use continuous misting and accelerated cure compound. Manageable but require more active management.
Control joints cut within 6 to 8 hours of every pour are the primary defense against random cracking โ standard on every Seven Wells project.
HOW IT WORKS
How Concrete Work Is Done Right in Las Vegas
Here is the exact sequence we follow on every residential concrete project in Las Vegas.
Free On-Site Estimate
We visit your property, assess site conditions including base preparation requirements, discuss timing for your area and the current season, and give you a written quote with every line item.
Site Preparation and Excavation
Existing materials removed if demo is required. Native soil excavated to required depth โ typically 6 to 8 inches for driveways, 4 to 6 inches for patios. Caliche hardpan layers broken up and removed. Compacted aggregate base installed in lifts.
Form Setting and Reinforcement
Forms set to the finished slab dimensions. Rebar or wire mesh placed per design requirements. Expansion joint material placed at all abutment conditions including house foundation, garage walls, and property features.
Concrete Pour and Finish
We use local Clark County ready-mix suppliers and schedule delivery on windows that allow proper hydration management. Finish is applied immediately after screeding โ broom texture, exposed aggregate, or smooth as specified.
Curing and Protection
Curing compound applied immediately after finishing on every summer pour. Plastic sheeting or shade canopy erected over fresh pours during peak heat. Misting system deployed on extended pours in temperatures above 95 degrees.
Control Joint Sawcutting
Control joints are saw-cut within 6 to 8 hours of pour completion on all slabs larger than 10 by 10 feet. This is the single most important cracking prevention measure and is standard on every Seven Wells project.

LAS VEGAS CONDITIONS
Why Las Vegas Concrete Is Different from Every Other Market
The Heat Problem
When ambient temperature exceeds 90 degrees, concrete surface evaporation accelerates significantly. During Las Vegas summers at 110 to 115 degrees, a pour without proper management can lose structural integrity before it sets. Early morning pours, misting, and curing compound are non-negotiable standard practice.
The Caliche Problem
Most Las Vegas Valley lots have a caliche hardpan layer 12 to 36 inches below grade. Caliche behaves like concrete when dry and becomes unstable when saturated. It requires specific excavation methods and affects base preparation. We assess caliche depth at every site before quoting foundation or driveway work.
The UV and Sealant Requirement
Las Vegas receives 294 sunny days per year. Stamped concrete must be resealed every 2 to 3 years to maintain color vibrancy and surface protection under this UV exposure. Unsealed stamped concrete fades significantly. We apply UV-resistant sealant after every stamped project and provide care instructions.
The Permit Reality
Driveways with public right-of-way curb cuts, sidewalks, and structural slabs typically require permits through Clark County or the applicable city building authority. We advise on permit requirements for your specific project and include permit fees in the written quote.
